What Is A Walking School Bus?

The Walking School Bus is a fun, safe and active way for children to travel to and from school with adult supervision. Each bus walks along a set route with at least one adult "driver", picking children up at designated stops and walking them to school.
The process is reversed in the afternoons.

At Glendowie Primary, we have four routes available, they are:

Mt Taylor                   Starts at the corner of Sierra Street and Mt Taylor Drive, along Crossfield Road, into Riddell Road and on to Glendowie Primary.

Chelmsford                Starts at the corner of Chelmsford and Shrewsbury Avenues, down Shrewsbury, crossing Whitehaven Road, down Hartland Avenue, right into Lisburn Avenue and then across the park to Glendowie Primary.

Wai-O-Taiki Bay        Starts at the corner of Clairville Crescent and West Tamaki Road, along West Tamaki Road, down Roberta  Avenue and up Riddell road to Glendowie Primary.

Whitehaven               Starts on the corner of Rochdale Avenue and Colchester Avenue, then up Whitehaven Road turning right into Grantham Road and then continuing down Colchester Avenue into the park and up onto Riddell Road to Glendowie Primary.
